Getting Connected

Smartphones and tablets can really enhance the visitor experience - great content, interesting multimedia, the full works. But what happens if there's no WiFi or 3G signal?

Some of the UK's most interesting sites sit in areas of poor connectivity (think Snowdonia or Salisbury Plain) and so miss out on the benefits of the smartphone revolution. Sajid Javid, the Culture Secretary, has proposed a new legislation that would see providers allowing network “roaming” when their customers have poor or no signal from their existing provider. In this way customers would be able to benefit from the internet connectivity collectively provided by all networks. We think this is a fantastic idea, especially for the outdoor attractions, events and exhibitions that have the potential to be brilliantly enhanced by our Platform.
